A Ronald McDonald House Family Room is a calm space away from the medical environment, where family stays close while taking a moment to breathe. During long days of tests and treatment, it gives a families a safe place to play, rest, freshen up, grab a bite to eat, or simply pause.
When days feel never-ending, these small moments of care matter. In a Family Room, families can recharge, meet others walking a similar path, be comforted by our volunteers, and regain the strength they need to be there for their child.
Often steps away from a paediatric or intensive care unit, each Ronald McDonald House Family Room offers a place for families to rest and regroup away from the medical environment.
Our three Family Rooms across Victoria and Tasmania offer a warm and welcoming place for families to be together and stay close to their child’s treatment. Run by our friendly volunteers, families can enjoy a cup of tea or a meal, play as a family, take a shower, connect as a family, or simply, rest.

For the comfort of our families, we have a cosy lounge area, a quiet room for rest and relaxation, as well as space for the kids to play.
The Family Room is located on level 4 next to the Starlight Room.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a refuge for you and your family while visiting or staying with a child in hospital. Step away from the ward and into our inviting Family Room, where you’ll find kitchen and bathroom facilities, complimentary refreshments, comfortable family lounge and dining area and space for the kids to play.
The Family Room is located in the children’s ward on level 6.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a refuge for you and your family while visiting or staying with a child in hospital. Step away from the ward and into our inviting, purpose-built Family Room. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen stocked with essential items and emergency meals, a large family bathroom and complimentary laundry amenities. Relax and socialise with other families and enjoy home-prepared meals in our spacious lounge and dining area, or retreat to our quiet room for some much-needed peace and privacy. Our Family Room has a relaxing outdoor deck for a breath of fresh air and a courtyard playground for the kids to play.
The Family Room is located on the Wodonga Campus of Albury Wodonga Health on Level 2, close to the Special Care Unit and the Maternity Ward.
Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is run by a dedicated team of volunteers, all under the leadership of our Family Room Program Coordinators.
We want to make sure families have a home-away-from-home inside the Hospital, away from the clinical environment of the ward. That’s why our Family Room is free and open to all families whose children are undergoing treatment within the hospital.
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are free of charge. Thanks to generous donations, families have a space away from the wards to recoup and simply be together.
